Who is Neale Donald Walsch?
By Cathy Lane | March 1, 2007
The major part Neale Donald Walsch played in the heart-warming and thought-provoking movie The Secret will stay in my memory and I’m sure many of millions of people for a long time to come.
Neale Donald Walsch is the bestselling author of the Conversations with God series of books and tapes, as well as the children’s book, The Little Soul and the Sun. He is also the founder of ReCreation, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering personal growth and spiritual understanding.
Neale is a master of spirituality and a communicator with God- but how did this come about?
In 1992, Neale Donald Walsch had a mystical experience that set his life on an extraordinary new path. This experience has sparked a glorious new career — one that has helped comfort and inspire many millions of people.
At age 49, Walsch found his career as a nationally syndicated radio host failing, along with his personal relationships and his health. In a fit of despair, he sat down to write an angry letter to God: “What have I done to deserve a life of such continuing struggle?” And to his amazement, he received an answer.
This explains Neale’s incredible profile:
About Neale…
Neale Donald Walsch is a modern day spiritual messenger whose words continue to touch the world in profound ways. With an early interest in religion and a deeply felt connection to spirituality, Neale spent the majority of his life thriving professionally, yet searching for spiritual meaning before beginning his now famous conversation with God.
With God Series
His With God series of books has been translated into 34 languages, touching millions of lives and inspiring important changes in their day-to-day lives.
Conversations with God
In addition to authoring the renowned With God series, Neale has published 16 other works, as well as a number of video and audio programs. Available throughout the world, each of the CwG dialogue books has made the New York Times Bestseller list, Conversations with God-Book 1 occupying that list for over two and half years.
Conversations with God foundation
The With God Series has redefined God and shifted spiritual paradigms around the globe. In order to deal with the enormous response to his writings, Neale created the Conversations with God Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring the world to help itself move from violence to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from anger to love.
Global Reach
Neale’s work has taken him from the steps of Macchu Picchu in Peru to the steps of the Shinto shrines of Japan, from Red Square in Moscow to St. Peters Square in Vatican City to Tiananmen Square in China. And everywhere he has gone-from South Africa to Norway, Croatia to The Netherlands, the streets of Zurich to the streets of Seoul, Neale has found a hunger among the people to find a new way to live, at last, in peace and harmony, and he has sought to bring people a new understanding of life and of God which would allow them to experience that.

I got the movie Conversations with God from Netflex not knowing anything about it or the author. As my husband and I watched it we knew we wanted more informatoin - as my husband went to the library in search of the book - I watched the movie again - I felt drawn to it. I started writing down the words spoken at the end of the movie. My husband brought book 1 and book 3 from the library - again - I’ve been drawn like a magnet to the books, taking notes. I know we were suppose to have this now. Thank you so much for the movie and your books! We have been on a seach since ‘leaving the organized church system’ - I know your books will help us on our path. Now we are sharing the movie and books with our friends and relatives.

I find the amoral vein in which higher human values have been denigated in the CwG series very hard to digest.God is said to claim, in these books, that there is no good or evil and therefore, no reward or punishment for human conduct. The single criterion through which the voluntary acts of humans can be judged is wether they bring the desired result - whether ‘they work’. That every human act is ‘correct’ given the purpose that the individual wishes to achieve at the time. That the only punishment the individual will suffer would be because of failure to achieve that purpose. If the God of the scriptures is seen as a harsh, vindicative Diety, then the God portrayed in these books is a cynically indifferent God who couldnt care less if humans do or do not display values such as truth, sacrifice, humility, generosity, kindness, etc.(all of which are, essentially, His attributes) in their actions and decisions in life. Arn’t mini-Gods, which humans purportedly are, expected to demonstrate their spirituality in their daily lives especially when the purpose of their creation is to allow God to experience His Godliness through their sublime behaviors? If there is no code of correct behaviour then how can humans proclaim their divinity?

Tomorrows God is a god for everyone. I too have been on a timely, challenging search for the truth of it all, it never made sense until I read this book. I feel as though I have been released from a very long term incarceration. I finally found what I knew was the truth all along. This book, in addition to the many, many other books I have read in the past 7 years has finally brought me to a point of understanding–of myself, my god, and my future. Thank you Neale for your part in it.

watched the movie version of Conversations with God recently… i appreciate the point that Neale Donald Walsch makes about having freedom to admit that he’s not perfect so he can move on from where he is.
